C2, I suspect that there will always tend to be more than one way to do a certain something ..........

hence the saying "more than one way to skin a dead cat."

Nevertheless, Mq's point is interesting, well-thought out and well-presented.

The question is: what is the dominant or common methodology now? When is it likely to change enough, if ever, to make an impact on the thesis?

It is an interesting thesis to one like me who has never thought about such things before.

C2 you are of course right. There is the third method available, not normally used to produce gold, which is the Tooth Fairy method. Use methods which are not used now but would be a great way to dig gold out of the ground, buried in millions of tons of rock. As you say, TJ's dirty great steel trucks could be replaced by wooden nuclear powered trucks which would require little oil. Or better still, get Tooth Fairies to fly down underground, right through all that rock, and bring the gold back up, particle by particle, as fairy dust sprinkled on their wings. It would be pretty and make gold mining very popular with the female gender. At present, it's mostly blokes like Little Jack who love digging gold with their dirty great steel trucks made of and powered by oil with big, noisy, powerful engines throbbing away.

Most Tooth Fairies are occupied with children, collecting their infant teeth and leaving a coin. Gold mining Tooth Fairies could use little gold coins instead. Children who don't care for their health by ensuring a good nutrient intake of vitamin C and other essentials of good teeth could save their gold coins to be melted down and placed in their rotten teeth when they are older.

There are many methods to get gold. Making it out of oil is the most economical way right now [mostly] which is why TJ is doing it that way.

So begins the Moai culture. It won't end well, just as the Easter Islanders came to grief.

hardly a revelation. your 8 recommenders, should probably stow thier egos at the door or decide to be less eager to agree with absolutely nothing..

this thread is appealing due to the bandwidth of its leadership...
