terry, his statement was 70% sub 1k for 3qtr was cpq.
this is what is an exageration.
since 3 top supplies combined for 55% of sub 1k in july and
then here's august....
it doesn't add up to 70% for the qtr. that whta be a whopping number.
do you see the dif in the statements made and the IBD article>?????

With IBM, Acer, CompUSA, HP and CTX entering the Sub-$1000 market I don't expect Compaq to hold on to 67% of the sub $1000 market unless they have something up their sleeve with the MediaGX. If they do they better get it out there because I see Compaq's sub $1000 offerings being dwarfed by the shear numbers of new entries in this area. K6's seem to be more than holding their own in this range as well.
