Shades,

There is a huge difference between shorting the stocks hedge funds short and this issue. And, typically, those funds may hedge a long position with a short ie against their own box.


If mork can short from outside the US, why can't these boys do it to?

First it is non-marginable. Therefore it is not shortable in the US.
The only shorting done as "hedges" in BB stocks, is done by offshore Reg-S transactions, typically, if the positions are locked up for any length of time. Most posters would consider this dumping.


If Mork can short from outside the US, why can't everyone else and there brother do it too?

The company isn't shorting their own stock.

I would hope not, but just think if it is ultimately up to the market makers to cover, could this not work (I am just joking Mike, no need to get your feathers ruffled!) (Wide Devilish Grin)
