Point is Java still lacks commerical applications, as an aside, I'm learning Java. Bug Blue thinks they can make it work on a PowerPC. I don't like to bet against Big Blue, however, I like betting against INTC, MSFT and HWP even less.

I think NT 5.0 will affect Microsoft's bottom line more than Javastation will affect Sun's

Not sure on this one -- Windows98 may have a bigger impact. The sub0 PC market is very big. I think even Dell will jump in when the CPQ sales figures come out, sub0s will be the biggest selling machines in Latin American and Asia countries. When Merced comes along, things may be different.

I agree. JavaStation is meaningless to Sun - they aren't going to make any money from it. Sun's money comes from the servers. The JavaStation is just a part of the solution they sell, but is low margin and not very interesting to them I don't think.
