For the most part, you are correct about the MM's mode of operation (skimming 1/4 points). Bottom line though, is that they will do anything that makes money.

I should clarify that MM's can loan out to outside investors or their clients 140% of physical possession shares for shorting.

Although it would be nice to engineer a short squeeze with the investors on SI. All the short squeezes that I know about (for companies in CYMI size) are executed by the institutions. To accomplish a short squeeze, you would need to sell Fidelity, Soros, or your favorite uncle with $30MM on the idea of a short squeeze. All of the people in the investment community that I have talked to will not do that now because of what our two favorite underwriters did to CYMI.

As a side note, I am comfortable with the current price situation because it allows me to buy shares at a 50% discount (my valuation). Even though, I have big paper losses on this stock.
