You restored the building, replacing the broken parts
and making the building profitable.

Romney restructured the companies, replacing broken
unprofitable depts., and making the company profitable.

I answer this knowing Ted can answer this question more than competently enough but what jumps out at me is that Ted did not outsource work to foreign countries. He invested in run down neighborhoods, rented to folk who proved reliable people and then sold at a perfect time during the bubble....

Romney took companies, strategized their crash and outsourced to foreign countries...

You sold your building at an obscene profit after raping
the tenants with your 'cash flow', and only paid 15%
cap gains tax.

Zeta did a good job responding to your concerns so I will let her post stand as THE reply.

However, I do want to add what I forgot to mention.........the building had affordable market rents. If they hadn't been reasonable, I would not have had a waiting list nor tenants encouraging their friends to move in. My tenants knew they got good value and services for the rent they paid.

So then...........a bldg that had once been an eyesore and mostly vacant became the catalyst for a neighborhood revival. Is there some similarity with the Romney story? A little. However with the Romney story, the revival was in China, not the US. Big difference.

And now you need to look at why you think a person like Romney with his resume is such a hero.

You've got it WRONG. Romney, doing his leveraged buyout, borrowed money to buy the troubled company, USING the troubled company's assets as collateral, paid himself a hefty fee, then left the company with the debt.
Some of them survived and prospered, as many or MORE died under the debt load.
