You will have a ball in Australia. I don't think I've had more fun with my clothes on than when I was traveling deep in the Mexican sierras, sleeping in dumps, eating very dicey stuff, etc., pursuing this or that interest of my father. Your upcoming adventure reminds me of that. Enjoy it.

>>i am now ready to travel monday midnight to queensland's gold fields.<<

Here's some light travel reading if you want it, a layman's book of stories about various elements. The title refers to the metal gallium, which melts at 29.77 °C (85.59 °F). The joke is to fabricate gallium spoons and use them for serving tea to unsuspecting guests...

From this book I learned of the vampirish metal tellurium, which was discovered in Transylvania. It forms the most notable natural chemical compounds with gold.

TJ:

You should add 3 pairs of dry socks. Easy to forget but if the feet are in wet socks for a length of time it can cause issues.

Maybe elmat can help with this as he is always in the field. My experience is only from reading.

Good luck this shoulds like a great experience.

Murphy's law will come into play but that is all part of it.
