Virises from the Robo's? No more so than any other means of public transportation.

Was talking about the onboard computers and their predilection for being compromised by subversives for whatever purposes. The imagination reels.

bill...

the day that we allow 'robo' pilots or 'robo' train engineers WITHOUT human backup is the day we should 'accept' robo automobile 'drivers'

iow what is the POINT of having a robo car driver when you must maintain a human backup??

yes, google can afford to pay for a human 'ride along' passenger in their vehicles, but by DEFINITION this makes no sense when it comes to individual autos on the road...

i see this the way i see 'cruise control' for individual drivers....yes it is an OPTION for the individual driver under certain circumstances (ie...long haul trips on the highway in low traffic) but it is not a viable option in city traffic and even if it were, not a REQUIREMENT for driving...hell i cannot stand 'cruise control' in traffic because of the need to constantly 'adjust' the speed in the midst of traffic...it's more of a pita than simply adjusting your speed accordingly instantaneously by your visual reaction...

in essence i see 'robo' software as an 'enhancemnent' to human driving, NOT a substitution
