Hog farmers are an interesting bunch.....I remember asking one what was going happen if he ever broke a leg while in with those 600-700 hundred pound sows. I'm not sure he had given it much thought, but it was pretty obvious watching from the outside.....Without help and I mean good help & in a hurry, he would never make it out of the pen.....Frankly, I'm surprised it doesn't happen a lot more, especially with the older guys. Another one told me once that if I ever had any "evidence" (as in a body) that I needed to disappear, just bring it on down......pigs make very quick work of rendering things to nothing. Some professions are more dangerous than others, despite the benefits of fresh ham & bacon.
