dwight, right now the biggest drive on the low cost is the lower income and the middle income families want to make sure their kids
have great computer skills.
if you don't have kids that have a pc then you will never understand this.
You aren't a single mom or dad or struggling couple who wnats their kids to succeed so this is way over your head and it's a shame you can't understand this.
You could run for congress, you have the first trait down pat...
cannot see where real people live.

I've already seen numerous reports on this.
Woring moms are somehow buying the low cost pcs and schools are getting a ton of them too.
saturation will be p to 48% soon and then to 60% w/i yrs.
It takes millions and millions of pc's for that to happen

Well, if you do not like sports, soap,....etc, that is great for you, but
I still think you may need TV for CNN, discovery Channels, ....etc.Life is not just reading the stock talk day and night or sell/buy in the stock market all day long, life should be more colorful and interesting. If your head is full of $$$ signs, I am sorry for your wife and kids!!!! Just bring your wife to Lasvegas for
a two days honny moon, enjoy the good shows and gambling for a temporary relief. It won't cost you too much.Money is to bring you good life, otherwise, money does not mean anything.

Pls remember do not take yourself as a special case to make a conclusion about the majority we are talking here. If you do not need a TV, it does not mean the majorty of people do not either. As to the poor factory workers in India , Malasia or on the Chinese rice field
you mentioned about in your post, please remember they may not be
poorer than you relatively speaking, if you take the buying powers
and low price of products under their own economy into consideration.
Japanese sold millions of TV sets to the south east asia every year, and China is the biggest manufacturers of TVs in the world, and all
TVs are sold in the domestic market not including TVs imported from Samsung, Phillips and Japan. I remember When I visited Japan and Taiwan, I felt everything is so expensive but when I went to China ,
I felt everything is so cheap, and When I back to US, I felt that everything is cheaper than Taiwan and Japan but much more expensive than China.Am I poorer from Most Taiwanese or Japanese view point?
or Am I richer in US? or super rich in China ? No!!! Not at all. It is
just a matter exchange rate and price of products under local economy of each of the above regions.

You still owe me a response about the "Human Right " issues!!!!

Dwight, right on. Acadamia (all levels) offers another good example of this. Secondary through grad-school students are eager to harness PCs to help them do their work, but ease of use and especially affordability are absolutely the essential varaibles here.

Best,

Dave
