"They say that $250K/year is the new $100K.

They should know the old $100K is way higher than the California median wage of the new $57,000. They should also look at the sky, say "thank you", and send in 52 cents of every dollar over that to county, state, and federal government., assuming prop 30 passes and the Obama tax cuts expire.
This will entitle them to a lapel pin that says, "I am an economic patriot."

Or a cap, or bib, or mug.

I say let's not worry about the rich. There will always be someone richer than you, and there will always be someone poorer than you.

So by extension we shouldn't worry about the poor either, since "there will always be someone poorer than you", What, me worry?.
