TULSA, Okla., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Heartsoft, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: HTSF - news), publisher of educational software products, announced today continued profitability through its second fiscal quarter, which ended September 30, 1997.

For the first 6 months of fiscal 1997, Heartsoft, Inc. recorded revenues of $423,471, with a net income of $134,138, or 2 cents per share. All revenues for the period were generated from the core products division in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and represented a 21% increase compared to the division's year earlier revenue levels. The net profit compared to a net loss of $103,697, as the Company's efficiency saw continued improvement after an internal restructuring in the last quarter of fiscal 1996.

Including discontinued operations, total revenues decreased 36%, down from $661,476 for the 6 months ended September 30, 1996. The decrease in overall revenue was solely the result of the elimination of the Company's Advanced Technologies division, which was closed March 31, 1997, and whose sales totals were included in the 1996 revenue figure.

''We are pleased with the Company's progress and continued profitability, especially through a quarter that includes the summer months, which is traditionally a slower period,'' said Benjamin P. Shell, Heartsoft Chairman and CEO. ''Our goal has been, and will continue to be, making prudent decisions that allow us to produce and sell our proprietary software in a profitable manner.''

The Company is currently rolling out its new product, Thinkology(R), on a national basis, with the third and final volume scheduled for release in January 1998. Thinkology(R) teaches critical thinking and higher order thinking skills to K-4 grade students, and recently received a gold medal award by GamesDomain, an on-line software reviewer that tracks thousands of software titles.

Heartsoft publishes and distributes curriculum-based educational software products for parents and educators nationally. The Company's
stock is traded on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol HTSF. The Company's website can be accessed at '' www.heartsoft.com ''.
