I just got a new ignore on the Orbite thread making a comment on French (lack of the avg Canadian to comprehend the MOST rudimentary) Obviously I can be annoying :o)

Ignores and people marks aren't a measure of a man.. but yeah Box can be annoying.. then again you should have seen the stupid puerile crap Brasco pulled off with Jane (a gazillion marks why on earth I cannot understand ??) on one of the French threads a few years back.. I mean talk about waste of bandwidth.. thankfully the guys on Le Coin are classy...

to each their own,...

New alias soon the Swan is about to die...he is old news...

great lyrics in this tune..

it is well proven many ignores are legacy issues, left over from the good old days when SI was the wild west of its genre. of my ignores, many are no longer active members, were banned for use of dual registrations (or more), left over from age old "turf" wars, and all sorts of encounters from long ago and mostly forgotten. Some of them are, like in your case, tit for tat ignores because I have the ignoree on ignore. As far as my people marks go, I would imagine, since I don't actually know who they are, they are mostly people with whom I have had very fruitful conversations (mostly in private or by email) over the last decade going on a decade and a half. I'd like to think, of what's left of the many thousands of people I have encountered on SI over the years, that these 99 represent the cream off the top, after weeding out all of the countless repetitions, those stuck within the limits of their own learning curve, whittled down to some quite tremendous thinkers and doers, who have done many many interesting things, and who have offered ever more interesting ideas in all the time that has passed since I joined in 1996. Mostly I ran into them by noticing them when they, and I, were completely unknown in the familiar sense. Something stood out. And, well, here we are today; I feel very very fortunate I both noticed them and interacted with them.

That I find MW more than repulsive has little to do with your question or even the poor statistics you used as the basis of your measure. I was merely saying, how I find him to be, and I asked if anyone did not rec the post, that they contact me and esplain why they don't believe me. Maybe you did do that, but I wouldn't have known, because you have been on my ignore list for years. However, in your case, I don't find you repulsive; please be assured. I find you have nothing interesting to offer even on your best day; and surely we all have uninteresting days posting not so interesting things merely to break the occasional boredom.

Okay?

by the way, your own stats, since you think they are meaningful, are absolutely horrid. some of the worst I think I've seen over these 16 years on SI.

by the way, since you raised the topic, in looking at your stats and my stats, it is kind of interesting to note that after my 46 thousand posts going on 47 thousand, over 16 years, I am banned only twice, and I have banned others only twice. I know for sure, two of these are tit for tat cross bans, leaving me a score of 1 single ban. MW has four, by the way. To his credit, of the 13 boards he created, he has banned no one yet.

You, after half as many postings have been banned 13 times. you are ignored a full twice as many times as you are bookmarked.

It is also given my former habits, pretty interesting to me, that after nearly 47 thousand postings, a mere 75 persons in 16 years were offended or simply bored by me enough to hit the I-button and never come back to read anything dear kind polite generous box might have said or a message I might send them, one way or another.

Since I no longer post much anymore, my projections are, my numbers won't be moving much into the future, and not at all, once my connection to SI is well and truely cut. But its Saturday, and unusually, I'm caught up on my backlog of readings. I think when I do cut the connection, I will change my handle to something appropriate. Maybe just the number of posts could be my handle.
