In low-infrastructure areas, or if you’re a casual hobbyist, or if you have very specific requirements
I don't know why, but this is making me think about recycling materials (milk jugs, tire rubber, etc...) being a desirable input material for 3D printing.

Obviously there isn't a home machine to self recycle into such.
