How far has apple fallen from the tree? this long term monthly chart with a 200 monthly ema provides one measure of how far price has separated from it's very long term trend...at it's 52 week high last month aapl was 450% away from it's LT benchmark about the same degree of separation as the Shanghai Composite was for example when it peaked in 2007. If you are curious the Naz was at about the 500% level in March of 2000. there is no question price has gone parabolic on a LT basis so investors need to watch their holdings very carefully right here IMHO but one can't rule out additional exuberance perhaps to the 750 area where it will match the naz 500% parabolic numbers as it made it's secular bull market top.
