President Barack Obama's campaign said Saturday it raised $181 million during the month of September and surpassed 10 million individual donations headed toward the incumbent's re-election effort and the Democratic Party. In an e-mail, Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said the September haul was the 2012 campaign's biggest to date. Messina also called the 10 million donation mark a "historic record for grassroots politics." Messina said the average donation was $53 and 98% were $250 or less.
