"Jon, how many times have you canceled a market order successfully"

Too many.

"I tried that one time with Ceres, and they called me back and said that market orders with their company can not be canceled once the order is sent."

One would think this would be the case with any broker. One would think that it would be impossible to cancel a market order once it was sent.

However, it's comforting that I can, given that the orders sometimes just sit there...

Joe,

I came to the conclusion a month or so ago that trying to cancel a market order with Datke sends your order to limbo. Another reason to use only limit orders. They can substitute for market orders if you place them outside the spread.
