I was born in SF as were my parents and two of my four grandparents. I am the last of my line who still lives on the SF Peninsula .. some have moved out of state and many moved to central CA....
My heart goes out to you, I too was born and raised in California, grew up in Sacramento and with to college at UC Irvine. I worked in the Silicon Valley in the '90's and I lived in the City in the North Beach district.

But I'm sure glad that I moved to Washington State in 97. I've followed California politics since I've left and there is no signs that anything is getting better there, only worse.

One of my favorite columnist is Victor David Hanser and he often writes about the decline of the Central Valley.
