re: << tell me why you think Amazon just bought up a huge chunk of real estate>>

One reason AMZN is buying real estate is to fulfill its current plan to offer same
day delivery in large urban markets. They're putting up 1M sq. ft, or more,
warehouses outside nearly all major US cities.

Of course, there are other reasons, as well, like immenent inflation.
When I initially started working at AMZN they didn't want to own the warehouses
they rented. AMZN rented nearly everything... forklifts, office equipment, etc.
It's a tax thing, I think. Like leasing, instead of buying, a car for your small business.

I haven't worked at AMZN for over a year. Another story...

do you know why smart people (and Bezos' is most certainly smart) are buying up real estate? Think about that for awhile. You might want to ask John Vosilla on this thread as well. If you don't want to look like a fool, I advise you Private Message him. And while you are it, read the collection of Ludwig Von Mises' lectures called "On Money and Inflation". Then come back to me and tell me why you think Amazon just bought up a huge chunk of real estate

For the same reason people have been buying real estate for centuries.........they are not making any more of it.
