People want to upgrade. And many who don't have the $ want the iPhone. I've seen ads all over the place for trading your iPhone up.

However, you don't think the smartest and most talented management team on the planet has thought about all this? That's called begging the question. The good news about Apple's sales team is that they don't have to sell. Hopefully the world's "smartest" management team doesn't think like that. Because yes, they do. A LOT of people are asking "5 or S3?" A very large chunk of them are choosing "5". What has changed is those same people were not asking the same question re: "4" or "4S". I know I certainly wasn't - before this summer, this simply wasn't any handset truly worth being called an iPhone competitor.
