LOL. Well, I don't recall being wrong on many of the calls I've made on this thread, but of course, anything other than a Democrat's opinion is wrong on this thread. And since when is admitting that I'm a student of history a declaration of hubris? I love history and study and read about it in my leisure. It's a hobby of mine. Is that arrogant to say that? I wish many more people were students of history. If they were, then we would spend less time debating ideologies and would spend more time in discussing the practical realities of solutions. History is an amazing guide to what works. There isn't much that's happening now that hasn't already occurred in history. Even the fact that we have failed to learn from history seems to be a time honored tradition across the sweep of the human timeline.
