I'm also an agnostic. I think it's the only honest position to hold. I don't KNOW if there's a God or Gods or not. I'm a minuscule self aware speck on a huge sphere wheeling through and unimaginably vast universe. How COULD I presume to have that sort of knowledge?

Most of the world's religions were born when men thought they were at the center of everything. We know better now.

I'm fairly certain that in admitting I know nothing, I'm closer to the truth than those who convinced themselves to believe otherwise. To live and operate as close to the truth as possible is the best path.

I so agree with you. You and me- we ought to start a church for that. We'd get preferable tax treatment :-)

I think I can believe in that.

You frame my dilemma
I'm not going to claim I know for certain.

It's OK not to know.

My reduction is to go with permission not to know

I guess it's simply a departure from the human trait of requiring answers to everything

So rather than evoke any type of dilute deus ex machina, I simply hold it is not only unknowable, it is OK to be unknowable

I like the finality and not second guessing myself
