Romney has neocons as his FP advisers. And some of his largest monetary backers (e.g., Adelson) are closely connected with neocons. Is Romney himself a neocon? Except for his choice of FP advisers, he has never given anyone reason to believe he was anything at all w/r/t foreign policy until his speech a couple of days ago (Monday). That speech was most definitely a neocon speech. That speech was an absurd amalgamation of neocon notions about American supremacy and responsibility to ensure that freedom rings throughout the world. If he is elected, he won't decrease the defense budget and he will up the ante with Iran for sure. And, if he is consistent with the speech, he will get us into Syria. Plausibly other "little" skirmishes as well.

Romney will be a disaster if he is elected, both in FP and DP. The debt and deficit will skyrocket again, just as it did under Reagan and Bush 43, because the truth is, Romney may as well say, "I will wave a magic wand, the deficit will disappear as I lower tax rates, increase the defense budget, and we will all be dancing the streets again." The RW will blame the Democrats for being Big Spenders again. There will be increased suicides in the military even as the RW on the sidelines praises them to the skies for being heroes, and even as they once again lower VA spending in the name of "fiscal responsibility" (the increased military spending will of course go to the contractors). And, incredibly, there will still be a sizable number of people who will believe them on all of this!

I live in the Mormon Vatican city. A LOT of Mormons are neocons, totally supported George W. Bush, and still do.

You're living in a fantasy world, and have invented a fantasy Mitt Romney.
