You get a deduction for every kid you have on your return. So families without lots of kids pay for the families that have lots of kids. If you have 10 kids you're likely paying no income tax. I think that is wrong. I think everyone living in the greatest place on earth and getting more benefits from government than most places should contribute. ...........When people don't contribute financially to the running of the government they end up asking for more and more and politicians to get elected give it to them.

I know we will never agree about this but I worry way more about the continuation of our democracy than I do giving yet more to the endless list of government programs. If you can figure out a way to convince people to pay for more so that it doesn't have to be borrowed - then I could see your argument.
