It is the gospel truth that 47% of Americans don't pay income taxes, so "aren't part of the system". And it's the gospel truth the majority of these people are kept out of the workplace, during prime working hours, by a massive government program - we call it school. Does this mean we need to charge each young person "in-lieu of" income taxes because they failed to earn any income? What about the idle elderly who don't pay income taxes on their Social Security - another outrage to be upset about. Even worse businesspeople who lost money that year, or what about the 2% who are physically or mentally disabled? Certainly they should pay punitive taxes too. You might be led to believe that children and the elderly are the largest threat America faces. A tidbit of truth out of context is just as effective as a large lie.
