I doubt that it is that high, but maybe.

There are two points about reducing my footprint:
1. I fret about the amount of information that can be found about a person with tidbits gleaned from the internet. I have demonstrated this several times to several people.
2. I want to spend more time with flesh and blood relations,

I also fear that the internet is part of the increasing animosity we have toward others who don't share our exact views. I believe that it increases our collective stress level.

As far as twitter and facebook, I simply don't need to know what random thought 99% of the people are tweating about at the exact moment that it pops in their head.

Sure, maybe it's a good tool for time sensitive information. But is it worth wading through all of the crap that comes across, or worse yet, getting sucked into the habit of posting worthless crap that is on par to hocking up a loogie for everybody to see.

It probably is a great thing, but I don't perceive a loss for not having it.

I just spent four solid days removing all of the clutter from my garage. I am doing that to my internet experience as well. And it isn't the right time to take on more virtual clutter when I am in the process of cleaning it out.
