Lewis was writing an article about the children of bond traders that have seen their fortunes erased. Where ever possible, the market will seek any opportunity to raise bond yields so more traders can get back in the game.

Mortgages are the biggest direct tax on the consumer. 50% reduction in mortgage rates is a huge step forward for consumers. That basically leaves $4 gasoline as the biggest headache for the recovery.
