The key is that Obama didn't focus on the economy when he first entered office

Really. What was the stimulus all about. Saving those jobs of teachers, police and firemen. Than what about the auto jobs, one of the largest industry. why are you bringing in talking points.

But as far as I'm concerned, Obama didn't do much to "save" this struggling economy, and those who think otherwise are proving a negative.
How so when he created jobs every quarter when Bush (the policy that Romney says will work) kept losing 500, 000 jobs a month. We again had good numbers today and the right wing spin machine is busy hunting for conspiracy behind those numbers. What an ass Welch made of himself and I hope you wont do the same if you should respond.

It is time to get back to work. Gotta go.

Re: The key is that Obama didn't focus on the economy when he first entered office. Nor did he focus on the deficit.

I disagree. The ACA was all about the long-run deficit, and for some reason, which I disagree with, Obama described it as covering the uninsured and those with pre-existing conditions. He sold it on fear (that you might have a pre-existing condition and be cut off by your insurer just when you need coverage or care).

It was not the politically smart way to take on healthcare. His presentation made it look like it was for a minority of the population. If he had said we have to get healthcare costs and healthcare delivery under control, if we are serious about deficit reduction, and having our economy be more competitive, he would have been working for a majority, almost everybody, other than those who benefit from the 2010 system and what was then foreseeable.

Nevertheless, ACA is a deficit reduction program, and to the extent it doesn't do it well enough, Congress has to amend it to make it better.

It's dumb to have healthcare costs rise to 20%, 22%, 25% of our economy.
