Obama Campaign Official: Libyan Terror Attack Has Become 'Political Topic' Because of Romney and Ryan

(CNSNews.com) – Obama Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter said that the only reason the terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya has become a "political topic" was because of Republican candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).

“The entire reason that this has become the political topic it is, is because of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. It’s a big part of their stump speech,” Cutter said in an appearance on CNN Thursday.

“It is reckless and irresponsible what they’re [Romney and Ryan] doing,” she said.

When anchor Brooke Baldwin played Cutter a video of the reaction from the mother of Benghazi victim Sean Smith accusing the Obama administration of lying to her, Cutter demurred and said the State Department would have to answer any further questions about the facts of the incident.

“First of all, you’re right. I can’t speak for the administration. I’m on the other side now. I’m on the campaign, and my job may be to spin, Ashley [Brooke], but it’s also to put the facts out there, and we’ve put the facts out there every step of the way,” Cutter said.

“I have great sympathy for that mother who lost her son. I don’t know about the conversations that have occurred, and I do need to leave that to the State Department.”

Bill Clinton certainly listened to him.

I'm perfectly comfortable reading polls for myself.

>> Turn it around? Where's your confidence for that romney landslide you promised?

Obama's smear tactics have proved remarkably successful. He has picked off enough niche constituencies that he can say and do anything, no matter how irresponsible, and get very close to what it takes. Romney described this phenomenon in his "47%" remark.

I didn't promise a landslide, but I thought that's how it would end. I simply overestimated the intellect of American voters, I suppose.

Still, if Ryan kills tonight and Romney, next time, performs as well as he did last time, I think a landslide isn't out of the question.

Hell, even Nate Silver -- the messiah of liberal polling -- has backed off his previous predictions.

Morris is a Romney backer. He does have a lot of poll experience. So....you listen but question......as in confirmation of Romney AHEAD in Pa is needed. So far, other polls show Pa is tightening considerably......but not Romney in the lead. I'll be watching for more Pa. polls. You can keep your head buried in the sand and be surprised on election day. I won't..
