>>both of min have been skunked :O)<<

Went thru that years ago with my roommate's dog. We washed him down with a gallon of tomato juice to neutralize it, but the scent lingered for weeks... ;)

My sympathy on the passing of your friend's blue heeler.

I have an Aussie and a mini-Aussie. My dirt-digger Cairn Terrier was re-born with great dignity and bravery last January, under the kitchen table with his eyes open watching us. I just adamantly refuse to "put down" a dog. What a crude and coarse phrase. The wife usually wants to take the easy way out but I always ask "Is that what you will do for me?".

I have a little over an acre with just enough room for a few more trees. In the 14 years we've been here, I've planted 6 oaks in the graves of our critters who have passed - - gonna save enough room for my self.
