Good article, thanks. Sent it to my son in law. We have had discussions regarding whether warm water from the gulf stream will move farther north into the arctic accelerating warming of the arctic ocean, or whether melting ice from Greenland will cool the waters even more. He said the jury is still out.

I believe warmer water will move farther north and accelerate arctic pack ice melting. One reason is the Inuit say the pack ice is melting from the bottom now.

Another reason is that rat had posted a time lapse picture on his thread showing the arctic now has so much open water it is allowing huge storms to whip up and the arctic oscilation to literally throw the remaining pack ice out into the Atlantic where it quickly melts.
