Biden has demonstrated poor reality testing – or a pathological disregard for the truth – for decades. He claimed in 1987 that he ”went to law school on a full academic scholarship — the only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship,” and that he ”ended up in the top half” of his class. He also said that in college he was ”the outstanding student in the political science department” and ”graduated with three degrees.”

However, after inaccuracies in his statements were exposed, Biden made this admission on September 22, 1987: ”I did not graduate in the top half of my class at law school and my recollection of this was inaccurate.” He had actually graduated 76th in a class of 85 from the Syracuse College of Law. And Biden’s baccalaureate accomplishment was a single B.A. degree.

'I need a new President': The last thing sniper lauded by Romney in speech said to his wife before he was killed in Afghanistan

By Hugo Gye 10 October 2012

A military widow whose husband is frequently mentioned by Mitt Romney during campaign speeches has spoken of her pride at seeing her loved one commemorated on a national stage.

Jane Horton, whose husband Chris was killed in Afghanistan shortly after telling her, 'I need a new President,' said she was 'deeply humbled' by the presidential candidate's frequent references to the family.

The Romney campaign did not ask for permission to use Mr Horton's story, but as a strong supporter of the challenger Mrs Horton described the news as 'the greatest honour of my life', according to ABC News.

Couple: Mrs Horton with her husband Chris before he was killed in Afghanistan in September last year

Both Hortons have volunteered on behalf of Mr Romney - Chris worked in his Oklahoma office during his GOP primary campaign in 2008.

Last year, the National Guardsman was posted as a combat sniper to Afghanistan, where he was killed in an ambush in September 2011.

'One of the last things my husband said to me before he was killed, when I would ask him, "Chris, what do you need over there? What can I send you?", he said, "'I need a new President,"' Mrs Horton said.
