No, those comments were tongue in cheek.

But overall, there are reasons for hope on the energy front with stuff like hybrids and natgas. They are nothing but can kicking though.

Brent oil (about 70%) is up about 4% since last year, gasoline is up about 15% over last year, and natural gas is up about 17% over last year. Coal prices also up double digits. Natural gas is also up about 87% since its bottom in April.

Peak cheap oil continues to be alive and well, world recession/slowdown notwithstanding.



It's going to take a real breakthrough to truly resolve the energy issues... or some Major Malthus Moments (MMM).
