I posed my questions to my son who is fully MS certified. He works in the field for Cloud Peak Mining to keep their computer systems up and running and is often hard to catch up with. He's pretty much confirmed what you've offered (and a couple others). He also gave me the same advice, to take the laptop out and about and see how it behaves at a few locations away from home. I'll prolly do that today. I may be making more of this than necessary, but I don't want surprises once I leave for Florida. Many thanks!
