Treatment of the native Coptic Egyptians doesn't have anything to do with anything that happens in America. If all someone does is urinate on a book, I don't care. It's paper, not the Word. That's a, imo, peculiar attachment to earthly manifestations.

But at least I shouldn't feel bad w/ you that I am not interested in being involved in Syria in any way? There's quite the uproar in many parts about us not doing anything on the side of those (which those?) against Assad.

The depth of your anger at America is what is striking me as odd. We haven't done anything re Egypt, though I think in light of their leaders reaction to the film, their treatment of Coptics there and plans to restrict their rights in their constitution, their possibly writing legal pedophilia into their constitution, that we should not bother sending aid to them, which they still seem to want. I'm not interested in a saber, but I'm also not interested in having anything to do with their leadership at this point.

When children who are nine and ten years old are arrested and taken to jail for blasphemy, that has the force of the state behind it. They can talk bad about Christians and about Jews all they want, talk is just talk. Putting people in jail for talk is a whole other thing. I don't get worked up over words like that, or about peeing.
