I think the MSM doesn't value lying as being something terrible as they are afraid to point out lying. So to ensure their job safety, they have become accustomed to seeing it as Ok, as just spinning, not lying.

E.g. Tom Brokaw is a chronic liar about lying.

As Eric Fromm once said: "the most neurotic person is he who adjusts successfully to a neurotic system" (think nazi Germany).
