15 barrels of oil per ounce of gold, +- 10 barrels. You would need to compare the standard deviation of that to the gold to corn bushels ratio, or gold to acre of farmland , or gold to QCOM ratio to say which is most consistent.

Ah, the old 1:1 correspondence simplistic mistake. <If that were true, then the gold/oil ratio would be a lot more consistent and level than it has been. >

Oil is also used for making tea and lubricating bicycle chains. You need to take that into account. And don't forget the miner's wages you mentioned previously. Not to mention fracking and Orimulsion.
