I would guess it's considerably, considerably cheaper than that. Matched orders don't cost anything but the commission.

I'm not saying it is or isn't happening here. I do know on MDOR, the head crook struck a deal with some hedge funds (supposed to be "smart money,", right??) and the contract stipulated that volume needed to be maintained above a certain level or they would be paid in cash. Magically the volume stayed abnormally high until the money was gone...and then vanished leaving the hedge funds to wonder if they invested too much in a company which claimed $7 million in used tire inventory for the tires in a landfill. Remarkably, only two of those funds sued after it was clear they weren't getting any money back.
