Looks like corporations have received most of the benefits of this recovery, but then I knew that. It's what I've been saying all along. The Dems are practicing the mother of all trickle down exercises. It has resulted in one of the largest cash stockpiles on corporate balance sheets in history. The question is whether those funds will be invested at a decent enough rate to create jobs growth in excess of net labor force growth. Right now, that isn't happening.

Also, something else to note. Every time I see a graph like this, which is an exponential curve, asymptotic to the right vertical axis, I have to ask myself, "Is this sustainable?" Can we keep growing like this? Is there enough demand in the world? I don't know the answer to that, but I would suspect that the odds are in favor of at the very least a decent pause and consolidation, before real, sustainable growth resumes.
