Poll: Romney cuts Obama lead to 1 point in swing-state Wisconsin
By Jonathan Easley - 10/17/12 02:07 PM ET

President Obama’s double-digit lead has vanished in the critical battleground state of Wisconsin, according to a Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday.

Obama leads with 49 percent support over Romney at 48, according to the survey. The same poll from mid-September, before the first momentum-shifting presidential debate, showed Obama with a 53 to 42 percent lead over Romney.

The latest Marquette poll was conducted before Tuesday night’s town-hall debate, but shows how much Romney gained on the president on the strength of his overwhelming debate victory earlier this month in Denver.
