I use Linux Mint instead of Windows. Its faster, simpler, more reliable and free.

The System in my 2012 MacBook Air takes up 5.5 GB - It's a full system, not a toy. But other extensions in the general Library bring it up an extra 16 GB - much of which are from applications I've bought.

My 64 GB iPad 2 claims I can use 58 GB for my stuff. So that system takes about 6 GB.
