I wish people would be specific on "Assault Weapons". Automatic Weapons are already banned by law. I personally see NO NEED for those in the hands of the average citizen. And few want them, IMO. And calling any semi-automatic weapon as an Assault Weapon is silly. Being black plastic or AK wannabe looking is no more dangferous than a wooden hunting rifle. And to say that military looking weapons should be illegal is to say the Mauser, Springfield, Winchester 1895 or Civil War Musket are Assault Weapons.

FD: Although I carried and/or qualified on a variety of weapons for 26 years, I last owned a Personal Weapon (.38 Cal Pistol) in 1965. It now lays in pieces that I scattered around the Highlands on my last patrol before rotating home. But I must admit, when I read the insane tweets by Obama Voters, I am reconsidering going back to find those parts. <g>
