I don't want Hoover NOR Roosevelt. Both were Keynesians and they ensured the Great Depression went on for a decade until WWII. They both instituted command economies and did quite a bit of central planning. Luckily, after WWII most of our worldwide competitors were flattened and we were the last super power standing with factories intact. So we became the world's exporters. Bretton Woods ensured that we had a currency backed by the gold standard and every other major currency pegged to the dollar. That made the US dollar the reserve currency and brought an amazing amount of stability and prosperity, not just to our country, but to help rebuild the world.

We've forgotten those lessons. We forgot that it was the free market backed by a stable currency that lead to unfettered prosperity that lifted all boats after WWII. With a mandate to keep the currency stable, backed by gold, Congress had to raise money the old fashioned way, raising taxes, or floating Treasuries on the open market. That restrained spending and kept our country fiscally stable. So here we are decades later, destroying our currency and rolling back not just our economic freedoms, but our Constitutional freedoms, because we think a few smart people at the top of the chain should be making all the decisions for the moronic massive of Americans.

Well, I for one reject that. It's not what our Founding Fathers, nor the Greatest Generation fought for. We need to make sure we reverse course, stabilize our currency, end the Fed, reinstitute the rule of law, prosecute the criminals, make banking boring, and restore properly regulated free markets to this country. This lurch towards fascism, socialism, communism, keynesianism, and every other "ism" must end.
