Pete, It is just the read on his tone rather than anything he said. The guy sounded pretty gloomy. I kept asking him if they believe it will be a temporary phenomenon. He indicated that 'it may not be' by citing the "lost wealth" effect. He said that 28% of their business comes from the troubled Asian countries and they do expect some adverse effect on their business. He insisted that they have not given any new guidance to the analysts. MOT is just one of many companies with a lot of international exposure. Cell-phones and pagers may be expensive toys for the people in that region. But, they can buy many consumer items which are domestically produced. No need to buy a Colgate toothbrush. My take is that if any company has more than 10% direct exposure to Asia, they are in big trouble!
