I don't think their going entirely digital indicates they are OOB. my understanding is that their ad revenues on their digital edition spread out further. Hence it is the ads that is the driver. Digital edition draws more ads. Besides it is cheaper. Gone are the jobs of high schoolers delivering newspapers in the early hours of the morning.

I hope they don't blame Obama for the disappearance of such jobs.

Newsweek is not the old Newsweek.

Washington Post Co. couldn't find a buyer, and Harmon (who had built the audio company) bought it for about $1, and he died a few years later. The estate didn't want it, and sold it to the Daily Beast. Now the Daily Beast is closing the print edition, which it didn't want. From the outside, it's not possible to know what Newsweek assets or skills or people remain with Daily Beast.
