How can anyone be excited about the stock market, even if it the Dow should go to 18k? On a ten year horizon, 18k probably means it's treading water, if that.

Given the massaged inflation figures, a minimum of 10% return on a long term basis is probably required to not go underwater.

Another dive toward DJIA 6K is certainly possible in the next few years. A final heart-breaking, bowel-flushing plunge over the waterfall that drives weak hands out of the stock market for good.
