R2 does "allow ranking/sorting a list of stocks"--the list output is interfaced via a column-sortable spreadsheet.

The readlib.dll will be also be fully implemented in R2, so it's a good idea to download and explore it re your programming goals.

Carolyn,

As a programmer I am sure you will find the R1 scanning language limiting and it sounds like you want to do more than use common TA indicators. The 2 years of data is also a limitation but does not prevent doing some valuable analysis.

As for the other questions, I can't help and hope someone else will jump in.
