Yup..and there goes my "A." Oh well, at least I had it for a moment.

The day is growing short (how's that for an oxymoron?) and my brain cells are following suit. I'm desperately trying to think of a word often used in a position of redundancy....maybe it will dawn on me tomorrow.

I am in agreement with you regarding being critical of other individuals. When I refer to correcting errors I am referencing the company I work for. I insist we "proof" each others work at least twice before it is released for general consumption. Even then, an
occassional error will go unnoticed, generally this is in direct proportion to the length of the document.

jbe,
Interesting thread.
Please tell me why I continue to misspell the same words again and again.
The word "componet" (component) gets me every time.

Thanks for the fine thread!

On of the most common and annoying errors I run across is the misuse of the words "lose" and "loose". I can understand the typos, the misuse of contractions, bad punctuation, etc. However, when someone starts complaining about "loosing" money I suddenly start hearing the soundtrack from Deliverance running through my mind.

(Yeow! Is a soundtrack really running through my mind, or do I just have a problem with mixed metaphors?)
