I think you should avoid discussing Apple. Some of us here are AAPL investors and we can spit out figures for you. Apple's earnings went through the roof several times in the past, in spite of all the other numbers being in the doldrums. Suffice to say that this quarter they are facing supply chain problems in meeting iPhone demand. If they didn't then analysts would not be that apprehensive about the impending AAPL earnings report set for this Thu.

So AAPL's performance is not in any way tied to the economy. The 85% who are employed do not think twice about spending on AAPL products. It is evidenced by people waiting for the release of the iPad mini.
