Tea Party history says it came into existence right after Obama came into the WH. Initially, their main issue was Obama's birth certificate. You get that information from people on the left, from people who don't understand the right, who don't want to understand the right, and in fact have interest in misinterpreting and discrediting the right. So not exactly the best sources if you seek enlightenment, and if you limit yourself this way, you may miss some important things. If debt was their concern, then they should have come into existence in 2006 when the debt first showed up after Bush squandered away the surplus that he inherited in 2000. If debt was their issue they could have come into existence in June 2008. But since they came into existence after Obama won, I refuse to accept that they did so because of the debt, as you say. Then this chart should make easy for you to accept what I am saying: Nothing very eventful until things suddenly boiled over in 2009.
